Taste Local Opportunity for Food and Tourism Businesses
Taste Local has launched a ‘Learning Journey Bursary’ which is open to all food, drink, and hospitality and tourism businesses within the rural wards of South West Wales. There are forty bursaries at an 80% funding rate with a maximum of £800 per business available. Businesses are being urged to get in touch if they would like to apply for a bursary to join others in the sector on a visit to Puglia in Italy as groups on 23rd September for 4-5 days.
Several local businesses have already been successful in their applications to undertake Taste Local Learning Journeys to Italy as a means of developing and growing their own businesses including Teifi Cheese, Nomnom, Con Passionata and Lwynhelyg Farm Shop.
The different groups will be visiting cheese producers, confectionary businesses, cookery schools and restaurants, vine yards and food trails/ farm shops/preserves in the region.
Taste Local Co-ordinator, Lowri Edwards said, ‘We only have a few bursaries still available so it is really important that anyone interested gets in touch as soon as possible. Businesses can apply for individual bursaries too if they do not want to go as part of a group.’

Share Wales
Visit Wales has recently launched a brand new website with a wealth of new content to help explore Wales. Therefore, it is a fantastic resource for the trade.
The material is relevant and at a level that will help businesses take small steps to develop their use of technology to help improve visibility and accessibility to the modern visitor and showcase different ways of using to enhance their tourism product.
The new visitwales.com site will be drawing images from the Share Wales flickr group and they are encouraging the trade to share their images of Wales. You can also sign up to the RSS feed from the site to get regular up-dates. This is a great website for Carmarthenshire businesses to ensure they are included on, as it can enhance the potential for the business being represented in the digital space of those looking at Wales as a destination.
Not only can your business feature on the website, but you have the opportunity to get graded, appear in Visit Wales’ product searches, be considered for their ‘on page’ content, add your Facebook page, write a guest blog and discover public relations opportunities and much more.

existing new developments within Llanelli Town Centre and
the sustainable wider regeneration of Llanelli and its
surrounding communities. Councillor Gravell also went on
to say how the local business traders were sceptical of
the improvements and new developments and the impact
they would have. She finished with,’ Today we have
proved them wrong.’
Ni allai pobl Llanelli wedi gofyn am ddiwrnod brafiach i ddathlu y prosiect datblygu arloesol y Big 5. Roedd yr agoriad swyddogol wedi ei pherfformio gan gadeirydd Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin, y cynghorydd Terry Davies.
Rhoddodd y Cynghorydd Meryl Gravell, yr Aelod o'r Bwrdd Gweithredol ar Adran Adfywio Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin araith yn Llyfrgell Llanelli, gan ganolbwyntio ar y prosiect, 'Adref'.
Bydd 'Adref' yn cysylltu a chryfhau'r cysylltiadau rhwng y datblygiadau newydd presennol o fewn canol tref Llanelli a'r adfywio ehangach cynaliadwy Llanelli a'r cymunedau cyfagos. Aeth y Cynghorydd Gravell hefyd ymlaen i ddweud sut y mae'r masnachwyr busnes lleol yn amheus o'r gwelliannau a datblygiadau newydd a'r effaith y byddent yn ei gael. Mae hi'n gorffen gyda, 'Heddiw, rydym wedi dangos eu bod yn anghywir.'
