Celebrating Welsh TripAdvisor Award in Carmarthenshire

Wales is well known for its breathtaking mountains, lush green landscapes, secluded ancient forests and its golden sandy beaches. But after a fun filled day of visiting such places, most people like to unwind and relax at the local pub.
The Welsh love their food and are proud of the many famous homemade dishes they have to offer. There is nothing better than finding a cosy countryside pub that sells good food and good beer.
Situated within the Brechfa Forest, sitting on the bank of the River Cothi is The Black Lion Abergorlech where the proprietors, George and Louise Rashbrook are pleased to have received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. “We strive to offer our customers a good memorable experience, so that they can enjoy what we offer, and witness the beauty of the Cothi Valley from our riverside beer garden; this acknowledgement reflects that our customers are enjoying their time here.” Only the top-performing 10 per cent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor achieve this prestigious award.

http://www.blion.co.uk/

Alison Copus, the Vice President of Marketing for TripAdvisor for Business commented that, “The Certificate of Excellence Award provides top performing establishments around the world the recognition they deserve, based on feedback from those who matter most – the customers.”
This is a fantastic accomplishment and it deserves appreciation. TripAdvisor is most commonly associated with reviews for hotels and restaurants abroad, with customers checking comments before booking their holidays to certain places. It is good to see that Carmarthenshire is being included and gaining exposure as a wonderful place to find great food, holidays and activities.

Dathlu yn Sir Gaerfyrddin ar ôl ennill gwobr TripAdvisor
Mae Cymru'n enwog am ei mynyddoedd trawiadol, ei thirweddau gleision godidog, ei choedwigoedd hynafol anghysbell, a'i thraethau euraid eang.  Ar ôl mwynhau treulio'r diwrnod yn ymweld â llefydd o'r fath, mae'r rhan fwyaf o bobl yn hoffi galw yn y dafarn leol i ymlacio.
Mae'r Cymry'n dwlu ar eu bwyd ac yn ymfalchïo yn y llu o brydau cartref enwog sydd ganddynt i'w cynnig. Does dim yn well na dod o hyd i dafarn gysurus yng nghefn gwlad sy'n gwerthu bwyd a chwrw da.
Saif y Llew Du yn Abergorlech ar gyrion Fforest Brechfa ar lan afon Cothi, ac mae perchnogion y dafarn, George a Louise Rashbrook, yn hynod falch o fod wedi derbyn Tystysgrif Ragoriaeth gan TripAdvisor. “Rydym ni'n gwneud ymdrech i roi profiad cofiadwy i'n cwsmeriaid fel y gallan nhw fwynhau beth sydd gennym ni i'w gynnig a chael blas ar harddwch Dyffryn Cothi wrth ymlacio yn ein gardd gwrw ar lan yr afon. Mae'r gydnabyddiaeth hon yn profi bod ein cwsmeriaid yn mwynhau treulio amser yma." O blith y busnesau a restrir ar TripAdvisor, dim ond y 10% sy'n perfformio orau sy'n derbyn y wobr nodedig hon.
Dywedodd Alison Copus, Is-lywydd Marchnata TripAdvisor ar gyfer Busnesau: “Mae'r Wobr Tystysgrif Ragoriaeth yn rhoi'r gydnabyddiaeth y maen nhw'n ei haeddu i'r busnesau sy'n perfformio orau o amgylch y byd, a hynny ar sail adborth y bobl fwyaf pwysig - y cwsmeriaid."
Mae ennill y wobr hon yn gryn gamp ac yn rhywbeth sy'n haeddu clod. Cysylltir TripAdvisor yn bennaf ag adolygiadau o westai a bwytai tramor, gan roi cyfle i gwsmeriaid fwrw golwg ar sylwadau cyn trefnu gwyliau i lefydd penodol. Braf yw gweld bod Sir Gaerfyrddin yn rhan o hyn ac yn meithrin enw da fel lle gwych i fwyta, i fynd ar wyliau, ac i fwynhau gweithgareddau.

Welsh Songs that are Loud and Proud

You know that song that reminds you of an awesome
memory? And every time you hear it, you get transported
back in time to the place, time and the way you felt?

Since The Valleys is a place of rich musical heritage, Love The Valleys has compiled the first official playlist to be offered to tourists visiting the Welsh Valleys.

Each artist included originate from the Valleys; from Only Boys Aloud, Manic Street Preachers, Racing Cars, Funeral For a Friend and of course Sir Tom Jones. Tracks have been chosen to match mood and activities.

It’s a collaborative playlist, so Valleys visitors as well as people residing in The Valleys can submit their own tracks.

When out and about in Carmarthenshire this May Bank Holiday, why not create your own list of artists that were born and bred in the area that motivate your days out?

To view the official Love The Valleys playlist for inspiration, visit: http://www.thevalleys.co.uk/news/the-sounds-of-the-valleys.aspx
Join in the fun and answer our poll on the Discover Carmarthenshire blog and vote for your favourite Welsh song already included in the list.
Why not get involved and tweet @Discovercarms with new suggestions from artists from the Carmarthenshire area for the list?

London gets a taste of Carmarthenshire

Last week, the Heart of Wales train Partnership, arranged for Carmarthenshire attractions to have exhibition space at Paddington Train Station.

Businesses from St Clears, Kidwelly and Llandovery went up with brochures and samples of products to promote West Wales including, Marros Riding Centre, Lolfa Cynin and Cwmcrwth Farm Holiday Cottages. Many promoters wore costumes relating to Wales to stop passersby in their tracks and capture their imagination, drawing their interests to what Carmarthenshire has to offer.

The event had a very positive reaction and the promoters involved had an enjoyable and successful day, with many images taken and shared. This was an innovative and creative idea produced by the Heart of Wales train Partnership with the aim of spreading more information about the tourism of Carmarthenshire. The Marketing and Tourism team supported the event by funding the Kidwelly display stand.

Yr wythnos diwethaf, roedd Partneriaeth Trên Calon Cymru, wedi trefnu lle arddangos yng Ngorsaf Drenau Paddington, ar gyfer atyniadau Sir Gaerfyrddin.

Aeth fusnesau o Sanclêr, Cydweli a Llanymddyfri i fyny gyda llyfrynnau a samplau o gynnyrch i hyrwyddo Gorllewin Cymru, gan gynnwys, Canolfan Farchogaeth Marros, Lolfa Cynin a Bythynnod Gwyliau Fferm Cwmcrwth. Roedd llawer o’r hyrwyddwyr wedi gwisgo mewn gwisgoedd i ymwneud â Chymru er mwyn dal dychymyg y pobl a fu yn cerdded heibio ac eu dal nhw yn eu traciau, gan dynnu eu buddiannau i'r hyn sydd gan Sir Gaerfyrddin i'w gynnig.

Roedd gan y digwyddiad ymateb cadarnhaol iawn or hyrwyddwyr a cafodd pawb ddiwrnod pleserus a llwyddiannus, gyda llawer o llenyddiaeth yn caekl eu dosbarthu ir cyhoedd. Roedd hwn yn syniad arloesol a chreadigol gan Partneriaeth Trenau Calon Cymru, gyda'r nod o ledaenu mwy o wybodaeth am dwristiaeth Sir Gaerfyrddin. Cefnogodd y tîm Marchnata a Thwristiaeth y digwyddiad drwy ariannu stondin arddangos Cydweli.
